Kids Are Funny!

I try to take time to write down in my journals some of the funny things my kids say and do. I then refer to those journals when I'm scrapbooking - usually because I am so far behind and can't remember dates, locations or milestones.

Here's a glimpse of a few funny moments recently:
I was talking to my two boys about what they want to be when they grow up. My 3 year old said he wanted to be a policeman. I asked him what he thought his younger sister, who is 9 months old, was going to be. He said "She is going to be a Mom." I was so touched! He actually thought that what I do everyday is a JOB! My heart was swelling with such love and pride. Then he added, "She'll still be bald too. She'll be a bald mom when she grows up." A sweet, tender moment became a pretty funny one.

My oldest, who is six, was talking about when he will be seven and eight... I told him that when his younger sister turns 2, he will almost be 8. Then I thought, gosh ... 8 years old???? What happened to my baby??? I said to him, "Part of me doesn't want you to grow up." He replied, "Who's Partofme?" He thought I was naming someone that wants him to stay young!! Too darn cute!

Enjoy those moments, write them down if you can and soak it in. The days go so fast in this journey called motherhood and there are so many simple pleasures in every day. Sure, I could write about all the tantrums, time-outs, eye rolls and tears that have occurred in the past week or so BUT I don't write about those things in my journals! Only the things that make me smile and that I always want to remember.

Happy Belated Mother's Day

I hope all of us mommy's had a fantastic mother's day. Is there anything better than the sweet little homemade cards, pictures and other treats we get when our children are young? To see their creations and the pride in their faces when they give us our gift is worth so much more than fancy things!!!

My 3 year old has been saying "Happy Mother's Day" to me for the last four days -every morning that is what he greets me with. I haven't corrected him yet. I just say thank you and treasure his innocence!! I figure if he wants Mother's Day to go on for weeks - who am I to stop him????

Happy Belated Mother's Day to you all!
